ABOUT ME
For almost 15 years I have been studying human thought, feeling, and behavior. The brain, in particular, has fascinated me – by far the most intriguing of our organs. Because I could not get enough of it, after completing my psychology studies in Bonn, I moved to Dublin to study neuroscience ...

Back in my hometown of Cologne, I began my career as a clinical neuropsychologist, where I had the privilege of caring for patients with chronic pain as well as patients with neurological conditions such as strokes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease. The focus of my work was the assessment of dementia and counseling patients with dementia and their families on coping with illness and change – a subject that remains my passion to this day!
Although I always loved working as a clinical neuropsychologist, my thirst for research eventually drew me back to university to pursue my doctorate. I investigated why we all differ so greatly in our sensitivity to pain and, within this framework, also researched the menstrual cycle, sexism, and gender roles. My current research focuses on the influence of lifestyle factors such as mindfulness, sleep, exercise, and nutrition on mental well-being.
After completing a professional training as a systemic coach and change manager, I now combine my passion for science with the desire to help others. At the university, I conduct research, teach, and am available to listen to the concerns of the students. Drawing on my experience in neuropsychology, I advise individuals and their families on coping with dementia, pain, stress, and psychological strain. As a systemic coach, I support clients through attentive listening, gentle guidance, and tools to reflect on themselves, organise their thoughts, and ultimately arrive at decisions and solutions.
I live in Cologne, where life can be enjoyed to the fullest – and which is a wonderful base to embark on exciting journeys. I love good food, captivating stories, and quality time with loved ones. Sports, Spanish, and walks along the Rhine also make my heart sing. And when I am not listening to a health or politics podcast, there is probably an indie playlist playing in the background.
